I will be deeply disappointed if Ontario stops free ecoli testing. I have made sure over the years that my wells were tested, and while bacteria levels have varied over the years, it has always been a source of comfort the no ecoli has been detected. Frankly, water testing has been one of the few services where I felt that the province offered some useful support to those who have to take responsibility for their own drinking, cooking, and washing water supply. Changing, for example, to trucked in water would be an expensive and wasteful move away from climate friendly living.
