Central Frontenac Municipal Facilities Closed to the Public Effective Friday, December 17, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.

In response to the rising cases of COVID-19 in our region and introduction of the new Omicron variant, Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health, is urging residents to stay vigilant and take heightened safety precautions wherever possible. Along with partners at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), KFL&A is urgently calling on the community to work together to help slow the growing COVID-19 case count in order to protect our hospitals and their ability to meet patients' needs.

This significant spike in cases is being seen in multiple settings and sectors due to the new variant of concern, Omicron. Omicron is highly transmissible and has made the KFL&A region the highest COVID-19 case rates in the province.

As a result the Township of Central Frontenac will be closing facilities to the public until at least January 4, 2022.  This includes the following facilities:

  • Municipal Office
  • Community Halls

All Waste Disposal Sites remain open, regularly scheduled hours at this time. Emergency Services remain in effect and in the event of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.

There will be reduced staff in the office starting Monday December 20th through until the end of day Thursday December 23rd .  Staff will be available via telephone or email. Then at 4:30 pm December 23rd the office will be closed and reopen on January 4, 2022  at 8:30 a.m.

If you need to drop off any documents, the Municipal Office has a mail slot available at the front Entrance to the Office.
