Over the past few months, a former garage/retail outlet at 14628 Road 38 in Sharbot Lake has undergone a remarkable transformation.
The building was gutted and then stripped down to the studs, a number of roofs and concrete walls were removed, and slowly the shell began to be filled out with new materials and new designs. What emerged, thanks to the efforts of carpenter Robert Hoffman, is a modern wellness centre and the new home for Dr. Gian Kaillon’s chiropractic practice.
Everything about the building is poised for use over the long term, from heated floors to R60 insulation, a fully accessible washroom and a bright reception area and treatment rooms, geared to a variety of service providers.
“It was the logical next step for me,” said Dr. Kaillon, who had been working out of the Sharbot Lake Family Health Team. “I’m really grateful to Dr. Bell and Dr. Cunic for providing space for me to get started, but this gives me room to grow my practice and bring in other services for the community.
So far, 3 other practitioners have come on board. They include Naturopath Dr. Doneisha Dodd, Registered Massage Therapist Frank Carone, and Therapeutic Thai Massage and Reflexology Practitioner Rina Thibault. Jennifer Harford Heiderich is the receptionist at the centre.
The grand opening of the new centre took place last Friday (October 13) starting at 5pm and continued well into the evening.
