It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Joe. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband of 58 years to Carol Wood (nee Polmateer).
Loving and cherished Father of Connie Delyea (Mel), Wanda WoodRedhead (Rob), Lisa Delyea (Doug), and Donna Riley (Patrick).
Joe was also known as a second Dad to many, you know who you are.
Adored Poppy of Joey, Stephen (Holly), Dallas, Shane, Brittany, Shannon, Nicholas, Cole, Sierra, Hayden and Paige.
Great Grand Children Gage, Hunter, Mylah, Rowan, Cheyenne, Lucas, Bowe, and Jubilee.
Pre-deceased by his Parents Stephen Wood and Eva Jackson.
Dad will be sadly missed by his siblings Delores Gibbs (the late Keith), Bonnie Wood, Bill Wood (Sylvia), and Allan Wood (Efef).
Fondly remembered by Brother-InLaw Ken Woodcock and many friends that he cherished like family.
Pre-deceased by his Sisters Madonna Wood, Marietta Woodcock, and his Brothers Lawrance Wood, Marvin Wood, and John Wood.
Born in Westbrook Ontario, raised in Flinton. The oldest boy of 10 children. His trade was in masonry and carpentry for 60 years. He used his skills wisely and built many homes in the area, but took pride in building a home for each of his girls along with work partner Mel (Son-In-Law) for 35 years.
Dad’s garage was a meeting place to stop in to talk politics, borrow a tool or two, or just to enjoy a cold beer. He always had a joke or a story to share and advice to give.
He was a man that was unselfishly kind, would give the shirt off his back.
He welcomed anyone to the table, and always lended a hand where it was needed.
He will be greatly missed and always remembered.
