United Church PageantThe Arden United Church held its annual Good Friday pageant again this year. Community members acted out the Holy Week story, including the Last Supper and the crucifixion. Then, early on Easter morning, the Arden Pastoral Charge had a sunrise service at the public beach on Big Clear Lake. Mary Magdalene was seen approaching the empty tomb while a loon called over the water. Angels announced Jesus resurrection, and Jesus himself appeared and spoke to Mary. The sun turned a clearing sky bright blue, and the hymns and Easter greetings seemed particularly joyous. Afterwards, the worshippers were invited to the nearby Duthie cottage for coffee and muffins.
