Arden Artisans

Arden Pottery and Arden Batik have been fixtures in the picturesque village for almost 50 years. These studios are the core of the Arden Artisans, but the group includes other artists from the surrounding lakes, making Arden a different kind of shopping destination throughout summer & fall.

The Arden Garden Party on July 11 is a major focus, but the studios are open all summer, and the work is as unique as the historic hamlet itself.

Back Roads Studio Tour

The 2020 North Frontenac Back Roads Studio Tour will be held on the weekend of September 26 and 27. 20+ artists in 15 different studios participate. The studios are scattered throughout North Frontenac Township, and driving through this beautiful countryside in the Fall colours is one of the major attractions of this popular tour, now in its 7th year. A variety of creations and studios can be seen on the tour, ranging from paintings, jewelry, sculptures, furniture and textiles all the way to artisan cheese made from sheep’s milk. Doner Studio at the Mill

Randal and Darlene Doner are accomplished artists who work out of the historic Washburn Gristmill at Lower Brewers Lock on the Rideau Canal. Randal's stainless steel sculptures are on display inside the Mill and Loft Gallery as well as in the studio and throughout the property, on the sculpture path along the Rideau. They are open all summer by chance or appointment, showing their own work, along with paintings and work of other talented local artists.
