Casual eateries are all the rage in Frontenac, including: the Shamrock Bakery in Plevna, The Cookery in Inverary, Muddy Waters in Verona, Sydenham Country Café and Mill Street Café in Sydenham, the Maples, Cardinal Café and the Crossing Pub in Sharbot Lake, and Addison’s (Northbrook). There are a host of places to relax and enjoy quality food in a relaxed atmosphere

Food Producers

Frontenac County is also home to some premier food producers and outlets, including: Seed to Sausage, Barb’s Perogies, Hanna Meat Pies, Cheesecakery Bakery, Back Forty Cheese, Limestone Creamery, DFC BBQ Sauce, Garrett's Bakery, and Fine Chocolate by Ludwig.

Many of these products, and their own Perry Farm meat, sell at Local Family Farms in Verona, Gilmours Meat (Harrowsmith) and Milligan Meats (Cloyne) and Glenburnie Groceries.

Spring is syrup time in Frontenac County, and Maple Weekend in early April is a chance to celebrate the sweet water.

The Day of the Pig, the annual party thrown by Seed to Sausage, is expanding and moving to the Parham Fairgrounds on May 16 this year, the same day that the Saturday morning farmers markets in Verona and Sharbot Lake are opening for the season.

Summer food events include Curds and Cooks at Back Forty Cheese on July 4, & late summer agricultural fairs.

Don't miss the Verona Garlic Festival at Lion’s Park on Sept. 5 & Open Farms on Sept. 13 .
