Ontario Municipal Energy Plan program
Council approved a motion to hire Posterity Consulting Group to prepare an application for Ontario's MEP (Municipal Energy Plan) program, a voluntary program designed to help municipalities better understand their local energy needs and conservation opportunities, set goals and develop implementation plans. Posterity Consulting has already been hired to conduct the mandatory reporting required for the township under the Green Energy Act's Ontario Reg. 397/11 (Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plans). If the township is approved for funding, the province would contribute 50% or up to a maximum of $90,000 towards developing the plan.
