The vendors of the first year of the monthly Sharbot Lake Sunday rink markets are proud and happy to be able to give back to the community that supported them.

Over the summer they tried to support the community by offering free non-paid spaces to service groups and some of those included the Lions, Connections Adult Learning, the local food bank, Henderson United Church and the GREC prom committee.

All other vendors and artisans paid a nominal fee for each market close to $900 was spent on market signs and newspaper advertisements which left the group with $1,300 that could be donated within the community.

After considerable thought and discussion, it was decided that the money would be dispersed in this fashion......

$500 donation to the Oso District Recreation committee as a thank you for use of the facilities.

$300 was donated to the North and Central Frontenac Food Bank.

The other $500 was split evenly between the other three Central Frontenac Districts (Olden, Kennebec and Hinchinbrook small united church projects.

This Market was all about community supporting small businesses and small businesses supporting community.
