Reserve June 12 /13. Be a team player at this year’s Relay. The Relay is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease. The organizing committee is accepting registrations now.

You can register as a team captain, team member, survivor, or volunteer. We need you in the fight against cancer. The outcome of last year’s Relay For Life allowed six volunteer vehicle drivers in the Sharbot Lake area to log over 14,266 km during 176 trips as they drove clients to cancer-related appointments at no charge to the individual.  Thank you volunteer drivers! We appreciate your efforts.

Relay For Life is how we fight back against cancer. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease. This is your opportunity to make a personal contribution and take action. Make a commitment to save lives by taking up the fight.

Register today as a team captain. You will gather 10 friends, family members, neighbours and/or coworkers to participate on your team.

You can be a participant and join a team to raise money for the cause. You can be a volunteer and donate your time and make it an event to remember. If you head up a company, sponsor our Relay, donate products or services, or build your own company team.

You can help in other ways by sponsoring a participant or making a general donation to an event or buying luminaries. You can buy them at Fit Plus, the Royal Bank, or by contacting Rosemarie Bowick at 613-279-3341 in Sharbot Lake.

We appreciated your donations, your time and your help last year.  I know the 16 children with cancer from this district did. Other cancer patients found themselves facing the dreaded disease and the need to drive for hours to get to medical appointments in unfamiliar facilities. You have helped make this less formidable.

Now is the time to be a leader and organize your friends into a cancer-fighting team. Choose a theme, a name, and a dress/costume to make your group distinct. Show your group’s talents by participating in the stage events throughout the night or relax in the movie tent or games room.

Reserve June 12 /13 for your commitment to the Relay For Life at Parham. Your donations will help. Your participation will show you are a true believer that cancer can be beaten. Contact Sandra Clow at  613-279-2935x228 to register or visit the website http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=3382&pg=entry.
