Feature Article - August 21, 2008 Elphinfest 2008The 8th Annual ElphinFest will be taking place on Sunday August 31, a perfect end to a busy summer. There will be over 10 acts featured. Solo artists, Jake Desjardine, Micheal Cota, and Nova Scotia's Jason Myers will kick off the day’s events. Several bands will follow. From Toronto, Indyscretion will play a blend of classic rock and guitar-driven instrumentals. Also on the bill are “Defy All”, from Lanark,Perth favourites “Pocket Change”, and Ottawa's “No Fly List”.From Carleton Place, the scorching rockin'nblues of “Still Dangerous”, which features the twin guitar attack of Larry Wayne Church and Barry Buse.
Veteran rockers “Sonic Roots” are back for the first time since they headlined the first ElphinFest in 2001. They will rip it up with a heavy dose of crunchy old school Rock N' Roll. This year’s headliners, “The
Woodrunners”, will finish the day with their stellar roots rocking originals.
In additon to the featured bands, expect a few pleasant musical surprises. Food is available from the Elf Inn Express.The music starts at noon and ends at 11 P.M.
