Feature Article - February 8, 2007FlyersSeason winding downby Tammy MacDonald
Flyers fans have noticed that their Junior C team is not anything like it was last season or the season before. There are just three more games left for the Flyers this season and although they will finish in last place and not make the playoffs, the team is definitely pointed in the right direction. General Manager, Mike MacDonald had a huge reconstruction job on his hands and with all of the new changes throughout the entire season, it took time to get things organized and ironed out; but he is convinced that there will be major improvements on and off the ice and that they are on track for next season.
The Flyers recognize that they cannot be successful without the community’s support. They will be hosting a EUCHRE TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER on Friday, February 9th, 2007 at 7:00pm in Kingston at Arlington ’s Banquet Facilities, 725 Arlington Park Place . It is $15.00 per person and there will be prizes, 50/50 draw and a meat draw. The Flyers hope to see you there!
The Flyers’ next game is on Sunday, February 11th, 2007 when they will host the Campbellford Rebels. These matchups have been some of the most exciting and close this season. Game time is 3:00pm. COME SUPPORT YOUR FRONTENAC FLYERS!
Notebook: The Flyers played a home and home with the Amherstview Jets. Sat. score 8-3 Jets, Sun. score 8-4 Jets……….Flyer Jason Dasilva leads the league with 78 pts, 42 goals (1) and 32 assists (3) which puts him in the running for League MVP.
