Feature Article - March 29, 2007The Hootenanny Revue takes the stage
The little stage show that could, spear-headed by three singer/songwriters, returns for an encore performance. Multiple Juno award winner Jenny Whiteley, Kingston’s handsome cowboy Luther Wright and British Columbia’s hostess with the mostest Carolyn Mark, have been presenting the Hootenanny Revue for the last several years. They have performed at venues across the country to rave reviews. The show is essentially an in-the-round song writing showcase, but with matching costumes, a theme song, hula hoops and all the musicians backing each other up! Added to the crew this time are the art rock duo Hank and Lily from Victoria and Ottawa songster Jim Bryson. Pickin’ and grinnin’ along are the fabulous Dan Whiteley and Joey Wright. The Hootenanny Revue hits the beautiful stage at the McDonalds Corners Agricultural Hall, April 2, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door or through Shadowfax in Perth. www.myspace.com/thehootenannyrevue
