by Chava Field-Green
Last week the News reported the incumbents and non-incumbents planning to run in Addington Highlands , North and Central Frontenac. In the past week we have been informed that Jim Beam will also be running in Ward 3 (Palmerston, Canonto). This week we are pleased to bring you information on who’s running for South Frontenac Council.
Mayor Bill Lake is officially running for re-election.
In Portland District, incumbent Bill Robinson has filed his papers for re-election, and so have non-incumbents Mike Cope and Yvette Guthro-Page. Councilor Don Smith will not say whether he is running or not.
Loughborough sees Councilor Ron Vandewal running for re-election as well as Fran Willis. Councilor Gary Davison, however, is not running again.
In Storrington, non-incumbents John Fillion, Norm Roberts and Larry York are registered to run for council, as well as Councilor Peter Roos; however Jack Barr is not running for re-election.
In Bedford District, no one is registered. Councilor and Deputy Mayor David Hahn is undecided at this point and Del Stowe said he was not sure.
“Have to check with the wife,” Stowe told the News last week when asked.
