Samuel Powell is a student at Sydenham High School, and this semester he is taking part in a focus program at Napanee High School called "Let’s Make A Demo". It is a music-oriented program where the students write music, record and put on shows.
Samuel and other student musicians are organizing a “Battle of the Bands”, which will be held at Napanee District Secondary School in Gym 1, on Friday November 13, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The cost is only $5 at the door.
The “Let’s Make a Demo” focus program provides students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in pursuing their dream to be involved in the music industry. The goal of the program is to enable the students not only to play an instrument but also to be able to write, read, play and know music theory in the process of being a musician. Performing at this event will be bands and solo acts with some variety of genres like Classical, Indie, Ska, Rock and Metal. The performers are Jeff Campbell, Breaking the Archetype, We the Archers, Knob Goblins, An Island's View, The Day before Next, Before the Blackout, Lacy Merritt, Andrew Groom, Rock Bottom, Tyler and Justin, Bend and Unconscious Encore.
