“Jack of Diamonds is a hard card to play” – lyric from Blind Lemon Jefferson, Jack of Diamond Blues

“Jack of diamonds, Jack of diamonds, take my money/You can have my life of luxury/You can have my precious silver, studded saddle, Bbut you can not take my soul, can not take my soul today” - Waylon Jennings - Jack of Diamonds.

“The Jack of Diamonds represents youth and the unrealized promise of material gain” according the Meet Your Psychic website

Leslie Ann Mcyntire must be thinking about that “unrealised promise” today, because while the Jack of Diamonds beats the Ace of Spades in Euchre, it does not win “Catch the Ace”.
Mcyntire purchased a ticket online last week (week 37) of the Lion’s Club of Land O’Lakes Catch the Ace lottery game.

And her name was pulled on Sunday (July 27) from the increasingly full rolling barrel at the Northbrook Lion’s Hall in front of a crowd at the hall and live on the club’s Facebook page.
This was good luck for her, as the weekly jackpot is now $2,500, the highest it has been over the last nine months of weekly Sunday draws at the hall.

Mcintyre had chosen number 28, which was pulled off the increasingly empty Catch the Ace board, by Lion Sandra Carman, and then revealed by club President Red Emond as the “Jack of Diamonds”.
Leslie Ann Mcyntire did not win $42,000 jack pot, the Jack of Diamonds is not her lucky card.

But the Jack will end up being good luck for someone else, the ultimate winter of the contest. Catch the Ace rolls on for another week, and a projected jackpot of over $47,000 this coming Sunday (August 2) and a weekly prize that may push $3,000 as the contest hears. Tickets are available at many businesses in the Northbrook-Cloyne vicinity, and online at https://landolakeslions.ca/catch-the-ace/ - or scan the QR code in the photo above which will take you to the online Catch the Ace Board.
