Asset management
Council received the asset management plan from RV Anderson Consulting. Essentially the plan calls for the township to continue its practice of putting 1% of taxes aside for long term capital spending, although it calls for some tax increases, up to 5%, over the next 10 years, followed by lower increases. The plan covers roads, bridges and equipment, but not township-owned buildings. It says that South Frontenac is in a stronger infrastructure position than many other rural municipalities.
Water rates to rise
Council approved a proposal by Treasurer Louise Fragnito to increase the base water premium from $20 to $30 per month by 2016 for Sydenham residents. The plan will go to a public meeting in Sydenham in the new year.
Management pay hike
Management employees will receive a 2% increase in 2014, the same increase as unionized employees and members of Council
