143rd Maberly Fair

The Maberly Fair will once again open its gates on Sat. Aug 23rd, 2025 beginning at 8am.On Friday, Aug. 22nd if you wish to exhibit your talent you can bring all your entries in between the hours of 1pm and 8pm.
Judging will begin early Saturday morning. The Maberly Fair began in 1882 and only ever shut down three times – twice by the world wars and then during covid. The fairgrounds can be seen just off Hwy 7 at 4484 Bolingbrooke Road, Maberly.

Maberly Fair lost a very valuable member this year in the man of Fred Barrett. Fred ran our maple syrup and honey sections for years. He was also instrumental in building the sugar shack on our grounds.
Here is a bit of our history. In 1932 the Heritage building was blown away in a wind storm and by 1933 it had been rebuilt. In 1970 the old dining hall roof fell in due to heavy snows and by 1972 the Quonset building was erected.
In 2018 our treasurer absconded with all our monies but by 2019 she had been charged and convicted. We have suffered losses but we pick ourselves up and just keep on moving forward.

Entertainment has always been at the heart of the fair. This year on stage will be the very popular Three2Go band and others. We will also hold our Light Horse Show beginning at 9am and our horse draw will begin at 1pm.
We will also host an antique car show on the grounds. A petting zoo, sheep, cattle and poultry show will be on the grounds throughout the day. Also, back by popular demand will be the zucchini races. You can view all kinds of needlework, quilts, crafts, baking and bottled goods in our exhibit halls.

In 1894 John Morrow dug up a potato to enter weighing 4 1/4 lbs, so one can assume he won the biggest potato competition. In 1988 Della McGinnis at the age of 90 accumulated the most points in bottled goods and won with her homemade bread

.Maberly Fair is always looking for volunteers and if you wish to help us out it would be greatly appreciated. We have room on our parking area, gates and exhibit halls for volunteers.
