On November 25th, the 2nd Annual Faceoff for the Food Bank took place between Frontenac OPP and South Frontenac Fire Rescue (SFFR). The exciting match ended with a close victory for SFFR, as they edged out the OPP by one goal.
Faceoff for the Food Bank event has become a significant occasion within the South Frontenac community. This year, the organizers were thrilled to witness the community's unwavering support. Both Frontenac OPP and South Frontenac Fire Rescue actively participated in the game, showcasing their talent and competing fiercely on the ice. Their dedication and commitment to the event were evident, making the Faceoff for the Food Bank a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Since its inception in 2022, the Faceoff for Food Bank has steadily gained momentum in terms of its impact. To date, the event has managed to collect close to 750 pounds of non-perishable food items, and approximately $3500 has been raised through donations providing vital assistance to those in need in the South Frontenac community.
The event's organizers express their gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the community, SFFR and OPP participants, silent auction donors, game officials, volunteers and Arena staff.
With each team having won a game, the 2024 match will certainly be a game the community won't want to miss.
