Last year, I thoroughly enjoyed the music of the Frontenac Women’s Chorus as they entertained with some rhythmic treats. The church was full and we lined the walls eager to gently sway to and fro as the women brought back memories of past Christmas’, nostalgic carols, and a few surprises.
This year, we will once again be able to join the women as they sing for us on November 25th at 7pm at the Verona Free Methodist Church. As with the past performance, this year it will be admittance by donation, and they ask that guests bring a food item for the local food bank. Not only do we get to enjoy the sights and sounds of the FWC but they will have two guest performers: the Verona Youth Choir and Anne Palmer, a flutist will be joining the group to sing and play during this intimate performance.
Numerous have shown that singing has many health benefits including improved breathing, posture, and memory function. Listening to music can help sustain a healthy immune system by reducing stress and boosting the Immunoglobin A antibody. It has also been shown to make people feel more positive and connected to a community.
So, if you have the chance to come out to enjoy the performance, they would love to see you. Stella ter Hart will be leading her choir and will be premiering a choral composition. Just think, we will be the ‘first’ in the world to hear this piece! Exciting.
Where else would you find a healthy activity that is reasonably priced, will help others, AND will have you feeling ‘good’ by the end of it, without a lot of sweat?
Hope to see everyone on the 25th.
Not just bringing music to life but improving life through music.
