Meet 16-year-old Master Warrant Officer Ryleigh Lavigne of the 2587 Princess of Wales Own Regiment, Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, and recent recipient of the Charles Edward Bernard Trophy, a prestigious recognition for her integrity and responsibility.
Ryleigh joined the Cadets at 13 and has been admirably working her was up the ranks with her unwavering dedication and discipline in Canada’s oldest youth program, which boasts approximately 19,000 army cadets across the country. In June 2023, she was awarded a medal for Top Master Cadet and completed phase one of her black belt at the Harrowsmith Jiu Jitsu Club. Ryleigh is a student at Sydenham High school, where she plays forward for the girl’s rugby team and works part-time at the Verona Foodland.
