Are you a budding artist, or someone who likes to play in the woods? Why not consider joining a keen group of local folks participating in the 3rd Annual Wild Art Walk in Battersea this October? Hundreds of people walk the trail to see the art in October. It's a great way to get out into nature and enjoy the fall colours! All South Frontenac residents are invited to participate. You do not need to be a professional! The Art Walk is on the 3 km Milburn Trail, a Nature Conservancy property in the heart of Battersea. Artists can choose from a one day display during the Pumpkin Festival on October 4th, or, if their piece can withstand the weather, they can have it in place for the month of October. Make some plans for a couple Denbigh Recreation Committee events in the next few months, including an ATV Poker Run at Heritage Park on October 4, 2025. Pre-registration at Rosie’s on Friday October 3 from 4:30 until 6:00 pm. On October 4th, registration will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Hands cost $10.00. Coffee and Donuts in the morning at the Rink building and Hamburgers and Hot Dogs along the trail. And on October 25 there will be a Halloween Children’s Dance during the day and an Adult Dance that evening.

It was just like the good old days when Rebecca Kelsey- Miiller of Estavan Saskatchewan returned home to visit and we waved away at one another on the road. Rebecca and her brother Mitchell and family enjoyed fishing, golfing, visiting and cruising. We love you all to pieces.
Our Henderson United Church is now gearing up for our Vendor Bash on Sat Oct 4 that features many vendors, bucket draw, live music, grab ‘n go lunch, bake sale, draws, and lots of visiting. If it rains we’ll hold it the next day Sun. Oct. 5 after church from 10:00- 2:00 PM. Folks are inviting loved ones from away- to come home and attend the event and visit up a storm with all the people. Bring your lawn chair and your appetite and have a blast while sparing your septic system!! We’ve also had some secret sign makers getting the word out- yahoo!!
Duck season is around the corner and I know we can count on folks to respect the fence lines, property lines, and to also hunt in a safe and moderate style.

Thank You from Inverary United Church to the support from community members, Susan Creasy Financial, the Storrington Lions Club and a grant from the South Frontenac Township who, all together, made it possible to purchase and install a new commercial dishwasher in the church hall! It had its first workout with Bob’s Breakfast last Saturday and “worked like a charm”!

Saturday September 20, 2025 at ABC Hall, 3166 Bolingbroke Road - A benefit concert in support of Willow Creek Stables; a rescue sanctuary located in Perth for 23 critically endangered Newfoundland Ponies who have been abandoned, neglected and/or abused. Jebb’s Creek Collective will be playing your favourite hits from the past. Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance, or $25 at the door if they are not sold out. The Ompah Community Cupboard fridge in the foyer of the Community Centre has many types of canned goods, fruits and vegetables. This month we also have some garden vegetables such as fresh squash. Feel free to come and take what you can use, but please remember to leave items for the next person. The Ompah Community Centre provides food items to keep the fridge well stocked. Saturday, September 6th was National Hummingbird Day. Many of us have enjoyed these little hummers at our feeders over the past few months and their imminent departure is another sign of the changing season. Although they are leaving, please keep your feeders filled for those birds that are enroute and need a refill of their energy along their journey.

Women's Social will be held Tuesday, September 16th at Verona Free Methodist Church at 12:30 pm. Dana Salsbury of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library will be demonstrating a3D Printer available through KFPL. 3D Printers can be used to make many assist devices to aid in activities of daily living. Our goal going forward will be to develop a plan to access the printer to make these tools available in our area. Lunch is by donation.
