May 21, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Beverley Margaret Roney (née Donovan), who went to be with her Lord and Saviour peacefully at the age of 90 on May 12, 2025.
Bev is survived by her loving daughters, Donna Milne and Dianne Butler-McCann; her son-in-law, Eddie McCann; and her treasured grandchildren, Leah, Connor, and Declan.
She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews in Alberta (the Wiens clan) and in Ottawa.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Nelson — the love of her life — and by her precious son, Terry, and son-in-law, Ed Milne. Also predeceased by her parents, Dennis and Florence Donovan, sisters Ruth (Ted) Wiens and Veda (Lorne) Kelly, and nephew Rob Wiens.
Bev was the heart of our family — an encourager, a prayer warrior, and a source of unconditional love. A devoted Christian, she touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and faith in her small but mighty family, each of whom was blessed by her strength, grace, and warmth.
Although we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing that she is resting in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before her, and held safely in the arms of her Saviour.
A service to celebrate Bev’s life was held at Westdale Park Free Methodist Church in Napanee on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church (named above), or to Lennox & Addington County General Hospital, where Bev received extraordinarily kind and compassionate care from her doctors, nurses, and staff.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
— Matthew 25:23
