With heavy hearts, the family announce the passing of our dear Mom, Marion vera isobel (Drew) Fox, on April 22nd, 2025, in her 88th year. After a brief illness, Marion passed away peacefully with her girls by her side.
Marion was born on September 24, 1937, daughter of the late Russell and Mildred Drew of Mountain Grove, Ontario. Marion was pre-deceased by her loving husband Mort (Maurice) in 2018 and son Gary in 2008. She was also predeceased by sister Kay (Catherine MacDonald) in 2020.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Pat MacDonald), Cindy, Karen (Denis Szabo) and Kelly, and very special niece Susan MacDonald; as well as former daughter-in-law Linda (Delmar Schonauer). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Matt MacDonald, Meghan MacDonald, Katie Mccullough, April Fox (Thomas Inwood), Nick Fox, Heather (Dave Kellar), Emily Fox, Colleen Fox, as well as sister Helen McKee of Kingston.Marion was a devoted wife and mother and spent her time caring for her kids and home.
She did work outside the home occasionally, house cleaning when she was younger, and most notably, as a crossing Guard at Gore and Robinson, a role she is still famous for! Mom was a huge fan of country music, and even in her last days, she was comforted by the Golden Oldies, which we're sure brought her cherished memories from the past.
She was a hard-working woman with a feisty side that came out often! She had a dry wit that matched our dad's; together, they were the perfect team. She will be missed beyond words and remembered lovingly by all who knew her.We must acknowledge all the nurses, PSW's and staff of Lanark Lodge, who were by her side until the end. We'll always remember the dignity, care and support you gave to her and our family.Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Sunday, april 27th, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M.
The service will be held in the chapel Monday, april 28th. 2025 at 10:30am. a reception in the Blair & Son Family centre followed by interment in Olden cemetery on the Frontenac Road, Mountain Grove. in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Lanark Leeds Grenville, or the Memorial Fund at Lanark Lodge, would be appreciated.
