August 15, 1950 – January 24, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Stuart, loving husband of Beth Hilts (nèe Schwager) of 45 years, father of Carla Hilts and Brendan (Nina) Hilts, pop to Lilly and Carson.
After battling an illness for several weeks, Stuart passed away peacefully at home in Cloyne, Ontario. He was a jack of all trades, having owned his own business and helping his parents run Len-Cliff Campsites. He also enjoyed helping elderly neighbours.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the great outdoors. He especially enjoyed meeting new people and spending time with good friends, such as hanging out in the garage at Len-Cliff or sitting around a campfire.
Stuart is pre-deceased by his parents, Stu and Lil Hilts, his sister Wanda Ward and brother in-law, John Ward. He is survived by his sister Ann Campsall, brother Peter Hilts, sister Janet Hilts (Gary), sister Dawn (Brad) Wood, brother-in-law Larry (Marcy) Schwager; and nieces and nephews Kristopher, Amanda, Lloyd, Ashley (Brandi), Jennifer (Phil), Lora (Corey), Lance (Kristen), Lynsey (Matt) and all of his great nieces and nephews.
As per Stuart’s wishes, there will be no service. The family will hold a private gathering at a later time. Online memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.milestonefuneralcenter.com.
Friends desiring may contribute in his memory to the Canadian Wildlife Federation. As Stu always said “Till next time”.
