It is with deep sadness that we share that Lorraine passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Born on December 11, 1935, Lorraine and husband John would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this July. Lorraine will be sorely missed by John and daughter Heather, and by her brother Howard and his wife Nadine. She will be remembered fondly by nephews Richard (Louise), Dave (Lynne), Don (Joanne), Ed (Cindy) and Brian (Sharry), as well as dear family friend Claire. Lorraine will be remembered for her practical advice (Aren’t you going to wear a coat?), excellent baking, green thumb, holiday hospitality and her meteorology (comparing the weather at home with that across the field at Howard and Nadine’s). Lorraine was a long time supporter of Henderson United Church, its UCW and Sunday School. But most of all, Lorraine was a devoted wife and mother for whom nothing was more important than family. Our gratitude goes out to the family, friends and Henderson neighbours who have been so supportive of John and Lorraine and kept in touch since their move to Bowmanville, as well as to the staff at Lakeridge Bowmanville for their kindness and care for all of us. Thank you to Goodfellows Funeral Home in Parham and Rev. Kaitlin Ostrander of the Arden Pastoral Charge of the United Church of Canada.
