With heavy hearts the McInnes family sadly announces that their beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Gregory Thomas McInnes, born June 6, 1949, passed away peacefully with family by his side after a short battle with cancer on August 19, 2023.

Greg is survived by his five siblings, Nadine (late Jim Gorr), Roger (Betty), Ralph (Carol), Philip (Jane) and Joyce (late Earl Bruce), twelve nieces and nephews and many more cousins, relatives and friends. A dedicated son, Greg was predeceased by his father Raymond John McInnes and his mother Vietta Nellie McInnes (nee Wood).

Family was Greg’s top priority and Uncle Grizzly will be missed and fondly remembered by many of his great-nieces and great-nephews. His annual Hills Lake BBQ was a summer highlight for family and friends for many years. Legendary for his video tape collection, he was a fearless uncle whose antics and daredevil stories regularly put a smile on our faces.

Greg was known for his quick wit, his sarcastic sense of humour and always knowing the correct answers to Jeopardy. He was an avid golfer, card player and reader.

Greg was a retired Dupont employee where he worked as an electrician for many years.

Greg was well loved and will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Greg’s Life will be held at Branch 623 of the Royal Canadian Legion, located at 120 County Road 4, Millhaven, ON, between 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturday September 9th, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, please raise a toast to his memory, play a round of golf in his honour or make a donation to the Clarendon Miller Volunteer Firefighters Association (Plevna, ON).
