When I got my new tax bill I realized it was three times as much as when I first built my house here and I wondered what I was getting for this 300% increase. When I went to the township office to pay the bill I immediately saw what my tax money was buying : a sharp increase in staff at the office.
In fact so many staff that they now occupy 2 buildings. And now we also have a full time year round property by-law officer on the payroll. I wonder what caused the people of our community to sink to the level that we need another big brother looking over our shoulders.
At the next municipal election I will be casting my vote to the candidate who is looking to reduce our taxes by cutting unnecessary staff from our bloated municipal offices.
