For a newspaper publisher with 40 years experience you seem to show little regard for the key values of journalism – namely sticking to the objective facts.

The holds especially true for covering such a complex and controversial issue as the present Israel-Hamas war, which is sparking daily outrage on all sides all over the world.

Your long preamble mixes personal opinion with presumptions and inaccuracies, while readily admitting that you are “far removed from the realities of the middle east, and have not done enough research to speak with any authority.”

As the only democracy in the Middle East, the State of Israel is celebrated by the vast majority of Jews and numerous other people around all over the world.

Although it is not perfect, Israel has made many overtures of peace to the Palestinians, all of which have been rejected.

It is impossible to have peaceful relations with neighbours whose only consistent message is the Israel has no right to exist, and the they intend to destroy it. You entirely one-sided and biased two-page spread has done nothing to clarify the present situation; you have certainly succeeded in adding your voice to the ignorant and hateful, chorus of Hamas/Islamic terror apologists and fanning the flames of antisemitism in the County of Frontenac.
