Regarding the letter in this week’s paper from a visiting friend, about the reports in the Frontenac News of Burn Bans “with no mention of the causes”, I’d say in this instance, the Fires and the Burn Bans were the news.
We have to be careful about jumping to conclusions from one source. Jeff Green does not appear to be in denial about Climate Change as regular readers will know. Most residents are very aware of changes in our climate from last year’s Derecho, to the unusual timing of frosts, heat waves and storms, as reported in previous editions of the Frontenac News, along with accompanying editorial comments.
Let’s make sure we get enough information from a variety of sources before we declare something, “Not good journalism.” We in Frontenac are very fortunate to still have a small, independent, thoughtful, locally supported newspaper that reports on our lives.
