RedFox will please and astound both listeners and dancers Aug 26th in the Chaffey’s Lock Community Hall! Chaffey’s Lock, Ontario – August 14-2023 The Chaffey’s Lock and Area Heritage Society (CLAHS) is very excited to be hosting a Quebec based band called RedFox on Saturday night August 26, 2023, in our beautiful and historic Chaffey’s Lock Community Hall. RedFox is a five-piece band consisting of Daphnée Vandal, Vox/Violin; Jono Townsend, Guitar; Tim Loten, Banjo, Samuel Neumann, Drum, and Sam Robinson, Bass.

RedFox is something totally unique. With a high energy, ambient, folk-infused sound, RedFox combines elements of traditional instruments with a more electric/rock feel. RedFox is based out of Montreal, Quebec, writing songs that are honest and vulnerable with an aim to have listeners catch feels and a desire, to hear more of their unique sound. Their current discography consists of one award-winning full-length album, achieved with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, entitled 'Stranger Love' released in the fall of 2021, as well as two four track EPs. They've played numerous big festival stages including Kemptville Live Music Festival, Mariposa Folk Festival, Summerfolk Music Festival, and more, and were recently honoured with a Canadian Folk Music Award in the category of New/Emerging Artists 2023 for their album 'Stranger Love'. They are currently working on their second album that will be released in the fall, after tours to the East Coast of Canada and the United Kingdom this summer.

“This is the third of three amazing bands that make up our Headliner Series for 2023, notes Gay Henniger, Music Events Coordinator. This band coming to us from Montreal, but this is not their first visit to Chaffey's Lock. They have played in the past for amazing house parties in Chaffey's, as well as twice for outdoor concerts at The Opinicon. Daphanée can switch between delightful traditional violin pieces to traditional tunes in an instant. You will need your dancing shoes once more for this event!

We hope you will join us to give RedFox a true Chaffey’s Lock welcome! Our committee is working hard towards this goal! You can make it a day trip and take time to explore the Heritage Lockmaster’s Museum & gift shop, the working lock on the historic Rideau Canal, and the gardens of The Opinicon. You can have an early supper in the Opinicon pub or dining room and maybe top it off with an ice cream cone made right onsite. Then walk up the street to the Chaffey’s Lock Community Hall and dance the night away. Doors and Bar open at 7:30pm and music begins shortly after 8pm.

Tickets are available for RedFox at: www.onstagedirect.com up until 6:00 pm, August 26th and at the door if not sold out.

A list of all Chaffey’s Lock Events for 2023 events is posted on the CLAHS website. Information re: the Headliners is currently on the event tab. www.chaffeyslock.ca
