Located in Cloyne, just south of Bon Echo Park, Finnegan’s General store offers all of your daily essentials plus a fabulous Greco Pizza Express franchise, ice cream shoppe, produce, coffee and seasonal flowers. Owned and operated by Stephanie and Michael, Finnegan’s has quickly become a staple in the community for not only residents but also seasonal visitors. The general store has always been a family operation, for over 100 years, with various owners before they took over in 2020 and the store is everything you would expect from a General Store but with so much more! In addition to offering weekly fresh produce orders for customers Stephanie has also connected with local artisans and features more then 15 of them in the store filling the space with everything from homemade blankets, pottery and paintings to handmade baskets, stained glass and vintage sweats. When you walk into Finnegan’s you are immediately embraced by a sense of community especially on a Saturday morning when they host their weekly coffee club and its all part of a local focus that fits with the tradition of the store. The pandemic only strengthened the bond between Finnegan’s and locals as they pivoted to provide customers what they needed and wanted during supply shortages and uncertainty and being a one-stop shop has allowed them to truly expand authentically, filling a gap in the community they didn’t even know they needed. Stephanie and Michael truly embody with community means as evidenced by the care and selection of what Finnegans offers and they work hard everyday to make sure that the meaning of community is never lost.
