North Frontenac has some of the most southerly exceptional dark skies in Canada. For missions of people in Southern Canada and the north-east US, this is the best view of the night sky and the Milky Way that will most likely experience. The Dark Sky Preserve is a public space with amenities, including parking, washrooms, electrical service and a concrete pad where you can set up your own telescope, weather permitting. Throughout the year the Preserve hosts FREE star gazing events (see below) where experts come and share their knowledge and equipment with the viewing public.
