“Joseph” is very much a collaboration with Christina Michie as director at the helm. Adam Parker is the musical director, as he was for our last musical – “Oliver!”, and will direct our next play in December- “"The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) (Revised) (Again)”.
Christina has put her whole family to work. Her daughters, Evie (who played Oliver in Oliver!) and Juliette, niece Lily Wotherspoon and nephew David Wotherspoon all have parts in the show and her husband Ryan (Oliver! cast) plays a number of roles, including that of a rockin’ Pharaoh.
Her mother, veteran NFLT artist Carol Pepper, is responsible for the artwork and has done an amazing job as usual with the assistance of Brett Hilder and Abby Nowakowski.Pam Giroux, 45 year plus veteran of NFLT, most recently in Dracula, returns and also has her family involved. Her son Marc plays Joseph, while her grandchildren Izabella, Zander and Livi all have parts in the musical.
We don’t believe three generations have been onstage together in the history of NFLT.
The Trussell family has father Steve again running the sound while daughters Taylor and Emily, both Oliver actors, are cast members in “Joseph”.
Sisters Margo and Sarah McCullough, both NFLT regulars are back on stage again and the husband and wife team of Terry and Beth Freeland (Oliver cast) are happy to be working with children again. Joelle Parr, who started her acting career as a youngster in “Wizard of Oz” plays the challenging role of Narrator, shared with Sarah McCullough.
Greg Morris, who played Dracula, is taking on quite a different role this time. Round-ing out the cast are Oliver! veterans Abby Weiss, Eva Lee Ball and Colleen Zavrel (who is doing double duty with cos-tuming).
Making their stage debut are newcomers Jayden McLuckie-McAree, Annabelle Klapwyk, Leah Young, and Gracie Weiss.
Lily Legacy-Zeirer, assistant director has put her husband Erik (camel and stage manager) and son Alder (prop man-ager) to work again after their important roles in Dracula. Art Holloway and Jan Levitt are producing the show and Art is also taking on the role of Jacob. Jerrod Geroux is fast becoming our lighting go to guy, Tim White is working on choreography and microphones.
Jeff Murray did a fabulous job again of designing and sewing many of our costumes – wait till you see the Amazing Dreamcoat!!The entire cast, but especially the backstage crew of Brian Robertson, Gord Sirrs and Bryon are sadly missing Fred Barrett for this and future productions.
Tickets are going fast! For info on tickets, the special Dreamcoat donuts offered during the Joseph run at Cardinal Cafe or the Dine then Dream dinner specials at Belong restaurant call Jan Levitt at 613-985-2895.
