The Central Frontenac Festival of Trees, which is the premier fundraising event for Villages Beautiful, proved so successful when it sprung back to life last year after a one year hiatus, that organisers be presenting it once again in 2009.
The entertainment schedule is being completed, the hall is booked, the opening lunch has been arranged and many of the trees have already been sold, but there are some trees still available.
Individuals, groups or businesses that are up for the challenge of competing for top honours for tree decoration, are invited to call Barb Driscoll (279-1139) or Pearl Robnison (279-2046) by November 23rd to order a tree. The trees cost $10 foot, and 4 foot ($40) as well as 7.5 foot ($75) trees are still available.
The trees must be decorated on site at the Oso Hall on December 9th .
In addition to trees, the categories of gingerbread house, wall hangings, wreaths, and Anything Goes are also available, and organizers ask that people let them know about plans for any these categories by the end of November.
The opening luncheon this year will cost $10 and will take place at the Sharbot Lake Legion branch, and the trees will be available to view, and tickets will be on sale, from 1 pm on December 10th until 4 pm on December 12th.
