A complete story of Arden, just as that any of our local communities, would begin with the original First Nations presence, continue through early pioneer times and two centuries of settlement and development. Both good and challenging times have been part of the story and have contributed to the current chapter and scene.

Since 2010 the Friends of Arden (FOA), a group of volunteer residents and cottagers has been working with and through various other local groups on projects intended to promote community life and vibrancy within the community.

The FOA is sponsoring a ‘Town Hall’ style meeting on Wednesday, July 16th starting at 6:30 pm and would like to invite anyone with an interest in Arden and the larger community to attend.

Glen Matson, a fourth-generation community resident will speak about life in Arden from the perspective of earlier times. The Kennebec and District Historical Society will present displays of items from earlier times and offer further information from days gone by.

A review of FOA projects undertaken will move the evening from the ‘Past’ into ‘Present’ day life in Arden. Ideas will then be invited and shared for potential consideration into the ‘Future’. Crucial at this point will be initiating some discussion around the undertaking of any future projects in terms of the lingering questions of ‘Who’ and ‘How’.

Refreshments will be provided.
