The demand for blood is rising, but there are not enough donors to keep up with the rising patient need. It’s time to get Canada’s blood pumping! Canadian Blood Services needs 450 new donors across the country, every day this winter. 1 in 2 Canadians are eligible to give blood, yet only 1 in 76 actually does. If you’ve never donated before, now is the time to join the challenge and be part of a critical mission. By donating blood, you are joining a community committed to saving lives.
Book your appointment at the upcoming Sharbot Lake Community Blood Drive on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm at Soldiers Memorial Hall. Recruit a new blood donor by talking to a family member, friend or work colleague and donate together…
As of Tuesday this week (Jan. 21), there are 46 open appointments at that blood drive that are still available. Get together a group of 3 or more and donate together as a group, contact me to set up your group donation!
If you are unsure if you are eligible, review the information below and take the online “eligibility quiz” @blood.ca. We have recently updated our eligibility criteria for blood donation. Visit our Recent Changes for Donors page for a summary of our changes. If you did not meet our eligibility criteria in the past, you might now be eligible to donate!
It is my hope that you will be able to share this information amongst your networks to encourage appointments… thank you and have a great day!
