Since 1976, the Sharbot Lake & District Lions Club has been hosting local senior citizens at their Annual ‘Seniors Night’. Over the years the event has been held at the old Sharbot Lake high school auditorium, the Land O’ Lakes Public School auditorium and the Oso Hall, always on a Wednesday evening in late October. Our local senior citizens were invited to an evening of music, silly skits and a light lunch, free of charge, and were even picked up by a school bus in the Ompah, Plevna, Arden, and Parham/Tichborne areas of our region. We’ve had the Arden Choir, Rosie, a wonderful standup comedian and the very talented fiddler, Jessica Wedden among others. Even Elvis and Johnny Cash (impersonators) have entertained us!
Covid had shut things down for a couple of years but now we’re back with a new concept. This year the Lions are inviting all senior citizens to a free afternoon of entertainment, starting with lunch at noon and featuring Rob Driscoll, a wellknown comedy magician from Kingston. Rob’s energetic show is packed full of fun and ‘Wacky Magic’. There will also be local musicians and some outlandish skits by the Lions Club Players and, of course, door prizes and a 50/50 draw. Join us at the Oso Hall on Saturday, October 28 at 12 PM for lunch and an afternoon of fun and entertainment at no cost to our local senior citizens. Hosted by your Sharbot Lake & District Lions. Hope to see you there!
