On Friday, local MPP Ric Bresee met with the team at the Township of Addington Highlands to hear more about the $190,300 Capital Grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) that was used to enhance playgrounds located within the Township of Addington Highlands. This project will fulfill a community need for play areas and structures which are inclusive to children of all ages and abilities, all while increasing the safety of the equipment.
The OTF Capital Grant was used to install new climbers, ride on toys and kid timbers in both Heritage Park, Denbigh and Tracy Park, Northbrook to enhance the existing playground and install a completely new playground at the Addington Highlands Community Centre – Denbigh.
‘The Township of Addington Highlands is extremely grateful to be the recipient of the Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant. The upgrades to our playgrounds and the installation of a new one help to promote a healthy active lifestyle in an accessible and inclusive space for our youth.’
