Coronation Medal For Henry Hogg

At a ceremony in Actinolite on May 10, Addington Highlands Reeve Henry Hogg was among 7 people who were awarded the King Charles Coronation medal by Hastings Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee.

Bresee is a longstanding colleague of Henry’s from Lennox and Addington County Council, as he served on Loyalist Township Council for over 20 years, where Bresee served as councillor, deputy mayor and mayor over that time.

Henry Hogg has served on Lennox and Addington County Council for 24 of the 27 years since the council took its current form in 1998, and has been the warden on a number of occasions.

In his remarks about awarding the medal to Hogg, Bresee talked about their shared experience as elected officials.

“I am honoured, not only to recognise Reeve Henry Hogg for his lifetime of commitment to his community, but also as someone I call a colleague and a friend. I have had the pleasure of serving as an elected official now for 25 years, which pales to Henry’s forty years of public service.

“First elected to his municipal council in 1985, Henry has been elected multiple times as both councilor and reeve, as well as representing his home community on the Lennox and Addington County Council for most of those 4 decades.

I first met Henry in 2010 when I joined the county council, and this wonderful man, a veteran of many terms, took me under his wing and provided guidance and mentorship to this young kid from Loyalist.

“Henry’s dedication to his community is legendary, but it is his kindness and positivity that make him truly special, and a very worthy recipient of this award,” said Ric Bresee.
