At Land O' Lakes Community Services (LOLCS), we are gearing up for our AGM on Monday, September 25th.
This is an exciting time for us as we are undergoing an initiative to revitalize our presence in the community. Community Services is involved in a wide array of services that many people are not aware of - for example, not many people realize the Pine Meadow Nursing Home is actually part of LOLCS or that the Mazinaw Lake Swim Program falls under our umbrella as well.
We are also planning on increasing our presence on social media to make everyone aware of services available all year round, as well as initiatives such as the Fall Backpack program and the Christmas Hamper initiative. Look for us Facebook or at www.lolcs.com.
We are also looking to investigate sources of funding for new, much needed programs and optimizing our value for the community. Stay tuned.
If you would like to learn more about the history of LOLCS and where we are going in the future, we encourage you to attend the 39th Annual General Meeting of Land O' Lakes Community Services (LOLCS) on Monday, September 25th between noon and 2pm at the Flinton Hall.
This meeting will be all about the past and the future. The past, because the special guests will be 4 of the individuals who were instrumental in setting up LOLCS and ultimately Pine Meadow Nursing Home and they will tell us how they did it.
The Board will also be providing a preview of the exciting changes that you will be seeing in the future. If you want to give back to your community, please think of joining the Board, either as a member or a committee member.
There is a lot of work to be done and we encourage the community as a whole to get involved.
