Feature Article - March 20, 2008 parham resident Goes to OFSAARoland Huneault, Kylie Blades, Aaron Dowd
Roland Huneault, who resides on Long Lake in Parham, recently competed at OFSSA. Huneault, who attends Marie-Rivier Catholic School, and teammates Aaron Dowd and Kylie Blades from LaSalle, represented Kingston recently at the 2008 OFSAA Alpine Skiing Championships held at Blue Mountain, Collingwood.
Aaron Dowd, competing in the elite Mens Level 2, ripped down the hill finishing 14th after two runs in each of the slalom and giant slalom races, only 4.10 and 4.45 seconds behind the gold winners.
Both Kylie Blades, Womens Level 1 and Roland Huneault, Mens Level 1 racers, carved the course with solid runs skiing personal bests during their second race at the end of each day.
Over 350 skiers from 17 high school associations across Ontario competed in the Championship.
