Bringing Bald Eagle Back to Ontario
Frontenac Stewardship Council and The Friends of the Salmon River are proud to announce their upcoming workshop. The Bald Eagle, one of Ontario's Species at Risk, will be the focus of this evening workshop, which will be held in Mountain Grove at the Olden Township Hall on Wednesday, October 3, 2007. Displays can be viewed beginning at 6:30 PM, with the keynote speaker, Bud Andress, leading a discussion at 7:00 PM. Bud is a local Bald Eagle expert from St. Lawrence/1000 Islands National Park. His talk will include everything from general information on the Bald Eagle to preferred habitat features. Mr. Andress will also provide detail about what to look for on your property to see if you could have potential for an eagle nesting site.With the leadership from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and through funding through the Canada-Ontario Agreement program, the various community partners have come together to deliver a multi-year Bald Eagle restoration Program.
