In 1965 a small group of citizens of Cloyne met at the local Barrie Township Hall each Sunday morning to worship under the doctrine of the Free Methodist Church in Canada.

In 1969, one in this small group had a vision of seeing a church of their very own built, so with the faith of a mustard seed offering, this was the beginning of Pineview Free Methodist Church. In June 1971 sod was turned to build a church, and on the third weekend of November 1972, this little congregation held their first service! That was 37 years ago.Throughout those years we have grown as a family.  And like any family we have had our ups and downs, our joys and sorrows.  Yet through it all we have remained as a close family, which believes in adoption.

With saying this, one of our greatest joys is introducing a new couple to our family, Pastor Thomas Eng and his wife Amy-Beth. Pastor Thomas is a vibrant young man who was raised on a large farm, went to university to obtain his Bachelor of Religious Education, and major in Pastoral Ministries. He worked part time as an associate pastor for the Uxbridge Free Methodist Church for the past 18 months to get the experience he needed to lead a church of his own.

His wife Amy-Beth was raised all of her life in a church, as her father is the current minister of Uxbridge Free Methodist Church. Amy-Beth lived at Circle Square Ranch in Arden for several summers, loves horses and has worked as a groomer, loves to sing, and enjoys working with children.

Pastor Thomas and Amy-Beth moved to our area in Kaladar at the beginning of November, and hope to make the Land O' Lakes area a longstanding home, and a place to raise their future children.  Pastor Thomas's desire is to make God's family grow by getting to know each and everyone in our area in a more direct way.  Because both Pastor Thomas and Amy-Beth have moved away from their immediate families, they too are looking to make a new home and family here in our community.  Please welcome them as one of your own family members, into your hearts, homes and community as you get to know them in a deeper way.  Don't be shy to greet them, shake their hands or even give them a hug of welcome.

Pastor Thomas is available in the office at Pineview Free Methodist Church each morning, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, and Wednesday and Friday, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.  You can reach him by calling 613-336-8100, or drop by the office. He would love to hear from you.
