Feature Article - August 10, 2006Man dies after jump intolake
On August 5, 2006 at approximately 7:00pm, members of the Frontenac OPP detachment responded to a Sydenham Lake residence in regards to a 21-year-old mate who had no vital signs. Investigation revealed Eric Sparling, of Norval , ON , was spending the weekend with family members when he and others decided to jump off the roof of the house into the lake. Witnesses noticed the male was unresponsive in the water after his jump and they immediately removed him and began first aid. Sparling was transported to Kingston General Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The investigation is continuing.
