Feature Article - November 23 2006New collections at Sharbot LakeLibrary
The Kingston Frontenac Public Library launched its expanded audiobook and DVD collections at a community open house held at the Sharbot Lake branch on November 17, 2006. Thanks to a $35,500 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Library has been able to provide more materials for our communities in Frontenac County .
Leona Dombrowsky, MPP for Hastings-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington, was greeted by members of the community, local municipal representatives and library board members and staff. She spoke of the importance of public libraries in providing information as well as recreational opportunities for rural communities.
“The audio book and DVD collections will expand the Library’s ability to serve patrons who are unable to use print material because of physical or cognitive disabilities or because of low literacy skills”, said Library Board member Ralph Gatfield. “The Kingston Frontenac Public Library Board appreciates the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s support in developing these collections”.
