On July 3 our postmistress was awoken at 6am by a noise, which when she investigated was an intruder trying to get into her kitchen window. She phoned the OPP, and the person who answered told her it would be a while due to shift change. This should be investigated and the person who told her this should be fired immediately, but it won't happen because of the way the OPP police themselves. It took the police over one and half hours to respond. She had no idea if the intruder left, or would come back. The OPP want higher wages but will not even respond to an attempted break-in. If this is not a call for Canadians to arm themselves, I don’t know what is, because if you follow the OPP advice to call them, you may well be dead when they show up.
