The government's hasty decision to rescind the digital sales tax in the face of Trump's bullying tactics Is a grave mistake. Despite Mark Carney's earlier "Elbows up" rhetoric, It is clear the government is maintaining the earlier appeasement tactics of Justin Trudeau.
These are not negotiations. Canada and the rest of the world Is dealing with a rogue administration led by a convicted criminal, consummate liar and whimsical tyrant, yet government leaders, inexplicably, including the head of NATO, continue to gush and fawn over this noxious individual, largely to no avail, while he indulges his lust for power at the expense of millions. Meanwhile, they turn a blind eye as Trump continues to be complicit In war crimes, while he simultaneously sucks up to fellow tyrants around the world who are slaughtering thousands remorselessly.
Doubtless, Jeff Bezos, fresh from his self-indulgent wedding celebrations in Venice, and his bloated fellow vulgarian billionaires, will welcome Carney's capitulation with glee. Unfortunately, this latest Canadian pandering will fail to put an end to Trump's insatiable demands. Meanwhile, the debasement and humiliation of Canada looks set to continue with dire consequences for the citizens of this country. But who knows? It may be only days before we witness the abject spectacle of Carney disembarking from a flight from Mar-a-Lago, brandishing a piece of paper which declares "A Trade Agreement in Our Time".
