30 members of the fire and emergency services department, all of whom have joined the department over the last 3 years, were recognized for the training and service they have brought to the township since then.


“Fighters whose unwavering commitment and dedication make a significant difference in our community. With their hard work, commitment, and passion each and every one of them have made a difference in our community,” said Donna Longmire, the long serving Administrative Assistant to the fire Chief.


There were presentations of both Federal and Provincial Medals/Bars and years of service pins.


Among those were 20, 30 and 40-year pins/bars for George Conboy. Jason and Ryan Conboy, and Virginia Gray all received their 20- year Federal medals.


District Chief Daniel Hole received 20, 30, and 40 year medals and bars, as well as the 45-year provincial bar and the 45-year service pin. Captain Stuart Howes and District Chief Jef Matson both received his 20 and 30-year Federal medal and Bar, as well as his 40- year provincial
bar a service pin.


Fire Chief Christopher McDonough received his 35-year provincial bar and service pin.

Captains John Morrow and Brian Peters received 20-year federal medals.

David Raymond received 20 and 30-year federal medals and bars.

District Chief William Young received his 20-year federal medal and Donna Longmire her 20-year recognition broach.

Retired department member Betty Matson received 20, 30 and 40-year medals and bars.


Finally, Rebecca Vinkle, Paul Gosse, and David Young received 5-year service recognition, and Taylor Hughes received 10-year service recognition.
