After 3 years of waiting out the pandemic, the Silver Lake Pow Wow is back, as strong as ever. And they didn't have to work that hard to attract such a large group.
According to one of the organizers, Trudi Knapp, "We have more participants, vendors and visitors than we expected and the weather is good too."
Dancing, drumming, singing, hand painted leather drums and one of a kind, traditional accessories set the stage for a very successful event on the shores of Silver Lake.
The brilliant hues of the regalia and handcrafted beaded jewelry turned the park into a kaleidoscope of colour for 2 days. MC Danka Brewer kept the program running smoothly. Hopefully, you saw the jingle dress dancer and didn't miss the potato dance.
Many visitors and participants from far and wide pre-booked sites at the park campground and some spent the whole weekend at the Pow Wow, feasting at the huge food venue.
What really made the Pow Wow special was the smiles, the laughter and all the busy helping hands. Miigwetch to everyone in front of, and behind the scenes of this great event. They're Back
